The aim of the visit was to get acquainted with the possibilities for planning and conducting research and practical learning for students enrolled in the joint Master's programme "Fish Farming" from the academic year 2024-2025. The laboratory was established with financial support from the European Commission as part of the EU Erasmus+ programme. It is housed in the Department of Animal Genetics, Breeding and Biotechnology at the Faculty of Biology and Technology. The laboratory is a state-of-the-art research facility designed to support the new "Aquaculture Technology" training programme and enable advanced research activities. It specialises in hydroecology, hydrobiology, hydrochemistry and the selection and breeding of various aquatic organisms. The main outcomes of the project should be 3 new and updated Master's degree programmes in Armenia and Ukraine, teaching and learning materials, upgraded infrastructure and well-trained teaching and non-teaching staff, as well as a network created between universities and the labour market, which will contribute to the training and retraining of needed professionals in Armenia and Ukraine. The aim of the training programme is to support the lecturers in the development of modules and to prepare them to give lectures on these topics in the future. To this end, UNIDU has developed a two-week programme (26 February to 8 March) that includes general activities for all participants as well as face-to-face meetings and discussions. The face-to-face meeting will take place with a professor or researcher specialised in this field, who can support the Armenian and Ukrainian partners both in the preparation of the module and in its implementation.
