10 Mar SNAU launches European crayfish rearing project
The Aquaculture Training and Research Laboratory at SNAU has recently initiated a project to rear European crayfish (Astacus astacus). This initiative aims to explore the cultivation of this species under artificial conditions, develop efficient husbandry techniques, and improve methods for population restoration.
Established with funding from the international AFISHE Erasmus+ project, the Aquaculture Laboratory is equipped with cutting-edge technology for research on freshwater fish and crustaceans. Its advanced facilities allow for in-depth studies on water quality, feeding strategies, and aquaculture breeding techniques, contributing to sustainable aquaculture development.
