The AFISHE project kick-off meeting was held January 25-27, 2023, in Yerevan, Armenia. The consortium, led by Armenia National Agrarian University brings together partners from Armenia, Ukraine, Portugal, Croatia, and Slovakia. The overall goal of this project is to decrease the negative impact of the aquaculture and fisheries industry on the environment in Armenia and Ukraine through the design and development of master's degree programs in aquaculture and fisheries that is benchmarked to high-quality similar programs in Europe and responsive to national and regional needs, as well as to strengthen cooperation between the university-enterprise- research cooperation (concept "from education to ecology")....

The SNAU team successfully conducted a benchmarking study of master's degree programs in aquaculture and fisheries as part of the Afishe project in fulfillment of the WP2 task with active support from all project participants. As part of the benchmarking, about 28 globally recognized Master's programs of European universities were carefully studied in order to obtain a complete picture of modern best practices in the implementation of Master's programs in the field of aquaculture and fisheries. After thorough analysis of the obtained data, as well as comparison of modern best practices, curricula and programs in the field of aquaculture and fisheries will be developed, based on which unified curricula for Armenian and Ukrainian universities will be created. ...
